LOVE saves the day (AGain); what you need to know about Bristols most iconic festival

Loves Saves The Day (once again), curing our January blues by announcing their best lineup yet! Originating over a decade ago in Castle Park, Love Saves is now the biggest independent music festival in the city. Now the festival takes place in Ashton Court Estate, to fit up to 60,000 fans. The festival spans multiple stages showcasing techno, drum & bass, garage, house, jungle and grime. Previous headliners include iconic DJs like Overmono, Rudimental, Groove Armada and CamelPhat. Love Saves never fails to introduce new talent too; with Bristol being the rave capital of the UK. Festival goers can expect a blend of talent, from international headliners to emerging artists.

The first lineup announcement on Wednesday 21st of January included big names like Subfocus, Sammy Virji, Rizzle Kicks, Katy B, Joy Orbison and Confidence Man. However, the most exciting part of Bristol festivals like Love Saves, is the emerging local talent that fans get to discover. Although this is only the initial lineup, it is already stacked with an exciting roster of DJs from a range of genres

Deep Dive - CONFIDENCE MAN

Whilst this may be a slightly biased review, Confidence Man are one of the most exciting duos on the lineup. If you don't know, get to know. Confidence Man are an Australian dance-pop duo from Queensland, known for their high-energy, cheeky live shows. The front duo - Janet Planet and Sugar Bones - lead flamboyant, choreographed performances, while DJs Goodchild and McGuffie appear masked, completing the band’s theatrical vibe. Although they’re not new to the scene, their latest album 3AM (La La La) released in 2024, was well received by British  audiences last summer, due to its nods to UK rave and breakbeat influences. Taking inspiration from eurodance, electro-pop and house, they know how to navigate a crowd - you don't want to miss them.

Listen to: ‘Gossip’ 2025, ‘I Can’t Lose You’ 2024 and ‘Now U Do’ 2023.

Deep Dive - Sammy Virji

Sammy Virji is taking the UK garage/dance scene by storm, with recent collaborations with Skepta and Fred Again, he is definitely one of the biggest artists of the moment. The British DJ and producer is known for his feel-good take on bassline and UK garage. His 2020 Album ‘Spice Up My Life’, reached top 10 in the UK Dance Charts and more recently, his track ‘If U Need It’ became his biggest charting single, racking up millions of streams. His sets are known for their infectious energy, often blending originals and club cuts to ensure the dancing never stops. His set is definitely going to be 100/10.

Deep Dive - LaidLaw

One of the lesser known DJs on the lineup is London based DJ, Laidlaw. His sound fuses elements of house, spaced - out funk and garage, which results in music that makes you groove. Laidlaw has been known to “ignite” the dance floor, with appearances at Gottwood, Dimensions and Boomtown. He is a really exciting DJ to watch, and is a definite do-not-skip at Love Saves.

Deep Dive - Dubtendo Allstars

Dubtendo Allstars are a high-energy rave collective blending nostalgic video game culture with bass heavy electronic music.
