Marriage Equality Down Under

On Wednesday 15th November 2017, Australia became the 22nd country to vote to legalise gay marriage. 12.7 million Australians took part in the vote, with 61.5% voting yes and 38.4% voting no. The survey was voluntary (unlike Australia’s compulsory elections) but this didn’t stop 79.5% of those eligible to vote to do so on the monumental day. I debate the controversy behind the vote and why even 'yes' voters were not all satisfied with the way the vote was being carried out.
